Reduce your emissions

How to reduce your emissions and reap the benefits

Zero Emissions Brisbane is currently undertaking market research to identify how community members can best support a decarbonisation strategy for Brisbane.

In our discussions, the following areas of action are typically identified

  • 100% renewable electricity generation

  • Electrification of our private and corporate vehicles

  • Circular waste management systems

  • Decarbonisation of our supply chains

  • Regenerative agricultural / land practices

  • Carbon sequestration optimisation

  • Jobs transition plan particularly for carbon intensive industries of electricity and construction

Also identified in discussions is a community understanding of the climate change threat, a willingness to change and enthusiasm around new technology. What is identified as missing is practical assistance in the form of information, know-how and policy settings to address the barriers to change at a local level.
